Music

at Trinity

Trinity has a long, rich history of musical excellence. For centuries now, music has been a vital part of our liturgical and community life at Trinity. Whether it be through joining our choir, attending or supporting concerts in our beautiful church, or simply singing in the pew, we invite you to join in our tradition of fine music at Trinity!

“One who sings prays twice.”
– St. Augustine

Choirs

at Trinity

Trinity has maintained a semi-professional choir since at least the 1890’s, and our choir today remains at the core of our music program. Our repertoire, though varied, is rooted in the Anglican choral tradition, and includes music from 12th century Gregorian chant to music of living composers and everything in between. We regularly sing the 10:30 am Eucharist each Sunday, multiple services of Choral Evensong throughout the year, and all major feasts of the liturgical year. The schedule of this program year’s choral repertoire can be seen via the link below.

Our choir is made up of dedicated and capable volunteers, professional section leaders and staff singers, and professional Choral Scholars from surrounding universities. The choir rehearses each Wednesday 7:30-9:00 pm September-June. During the summer months, we take a break from mid-week rehearsals but continue singing each Sunday as a summer “pick-up” choir.

If you have some previous musical experience and are interested in singing in our choir, please email our Organist & Choirmaster, Eric Dolch, at gro.htuomstrop-ytinirt@cisum, or call the Parish Office at (757) 393-0431, Ext. 103. Our choir is a lively, fun group of people from all walks of life, and we would love to have you sing with us!
