Trinity is preparing to launch a new Chorister Program for children and youth in grades 3–12, with a goal of nurturing a love of music, building friendships, and introducing young people to the rich tradition of Anglican choral music.

The program will be open to children of all faiths and backgrounds, and families do not need to be members of Trinity to participate. Instruction will be offered at no cost and will follow the curriculum of the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM), giving Choristers a strong foundation in vocal technique, music theory, sight-singing, music notation, and ensemble singing.

During the school year, Choristers will participate in a weekly mid-week class and rehearsal, and will sing approximately once a month with Trinity’s semi-professional Choir during a Sunday morning or evening service. Older, experienced Choristers may have additional opportunities to sing with the Trinity Choir.

The program will also open doors to exciting musical experiences beyond Trinity, including regional RSCM summer programs and, for qualified Senior Choristers, the possibility of accompanying the Trinity Choir for a 10-day cathedral residency in England in the summer of 2028.

We invite interested families to join us for one of two information sessions as we discern the schedule and program structure that will best serve Trinity and the families of Portsmouth:

Sunday, September 13 at 11:45 a.m.
Wednesday, September 16 at 6:00 p.m.
Both sessions will be held in the Parish Hall.

The Chorister Program is planned to launch in early 2027.
